Throwing Snow piles his emotional weight behind two bittersweet techno trancers for Houndstooth. They mark a slight departure from his well-loved 'Mosaic' album, moving closer to the laser-guided but gruff grooves of recent Chris Clark than his nimble, jazzier workouts.

'Lumen' beams killawatts of lush synth discord to taste, banking dizzy synth harmonics and swinging breaks with a lip-smacking, ecto-buzz potency. 'Paint' works on the other side of the wave, tempering the sheer high with a sweeping sense of melancholic majesty for a proper friday night rollercoaster vibe. Gwan, gizza dab then.
